Reese went to the doctor for a check-up, and the scale went up again! She is now 13 pounds and 23.5 inches. Reese also tried out her first bottle today so she is ready for Mommy to go back to work in a couple weeks (TEAR), and she took it like a champ! She is a greater eater, just like her parents!
Reese Reese was one spoiled little girl! She now as more clothes than her Mama and is starting quite the toy collection...

The happy dance. "Aunt CarCar is home! (Don't mind my double chin.)"
"How about this for tummy time! Am I strong, or what?"
"Uncle Jack, you are so warm and cozy."
Yesterday, Reese turned 1 month old! AND, Auntie Carissa came home! We had a last minute gathering at Granmda Kathy's for some pizza and a chance to welcome Carissa home. We couldn't be more excited! Now, the gang is all here!

In the next month we get to look forward to her smiling back at us and responding more to sounds. She is doing better at night... just one or sometimes two nightly feedings. Besides all her grunting and tooting at night, she is becoming a sleeping champ.
3 weeks old! (Look cousin Noah, I have a picture in the laundry basket too... and it was warm!)

The annual party was a blast, as usual. It was Reese's and Noah's first Sing-A-Long and they were quite happy to meet Santa Claus! (Thanks Uncle Jack!)
The gang was all there. The singing champ of the night was Brooke along with John (and his fabulous outfit!)
The Connelly's looked adorable in their holiday sweaters! (Noah had his on too!) - Happy 3 Year Anniversary tomorrow! - Looking better than ever.
...And a Thanks to the Berggrens for the visit to meet Reese and sing away! Only 9 weeks until the little Berg arrives! We are so excited!

Kristen came over yesterday to meet Reese. She also gave Reese an adorable purple Columbia jacket. Reese just loves it and can't wait until it fits! Thanks for the visit Kristen!
Today Reese had her first trip to a restaurant. We went to Weber Grill and Reese slept the entire time. What a good girl!

Uncle Mark thought it would be fun to sit on our couch and take pictures of himself. He certainly didn't think it would make the blog either, but narcissism is the word of the month...so here he is; in all his glory.
A shout out to his wifey, Aunt Sabrina too. It's she who lives in the shadows of this stud.

Now, the real props going to Daddy, who is taking fantastic care of his girls... what an amazing husband and dad!

Well, let me just say that this has been the most amazing, wonderful, painful, traumatic, scary, thrilling, exhausting experience of my life. As rough as it was, I wouldn't change it for the world (I sound like a mother already!).
So, here goes...
We came to the hospital at 7pm on Tuesday night.
8:30 pm - Started the cervidil
4:00 am - The nurse said I was dilated to about 5cms , so they took out the cervidil and decided I didn't need the pitocin since I was moving right along.
5:00 am - The contractions got completely painful and I was ready for the epidural.
7:00 am - I waited for about a half hour for the epidural. It was tough, but I survived. (I was originally most scared of the epidural... it was nothing.)
So, the next few hours were ok.
8:00 am - My water broke and I was 7 cms. Things were moving along nicely, I felt happy and ready to go.
10:15 am - I was fully dilated and it was time to begin the final stretch. No problem... right? Well, Ryan and Sabrina were in the room with me and the pushing began and I was doing ok. I pushed... and pushed... and began to feel like I was never going to get the baby out. At this point, the epidural was starting to fade. I thought it was normal to feel stuff, but really, I was feeling too much! It hurt me so much.
11:30 am - I started to make great progress and she was ready to come out, but of course, I had to wait for the doctor.
11:42 am - Reese entered the world.
They announced it was a girl, and I didn't even care, I was just happy I had the baby out and that I made it and mostly, that she was healthy.
The experience was overall rough and tough for Ryan and me (I got very beat up), but as people always say, it was worth it because she is so amazing. I can’t even believe she is ours! We love her so much.
So, here’s the info…

Here is little Noah. We hung out on Tuesday to pass some time waiting for baby Staniak. We had a nice time and Noah got to try out some new toys and break in the crib for little Stanny.
We were thinking that maybe the babe would make an appearance before Tuesday, but with only one day left, it looks like November 14th will be the day! Can't wait!

Well, we went in for the 39 week appointment and there was no change! The doctor checked the fluid level and we did a Non Stress Test and every thing seemed to be ok, but the doctor does not want me going past our due date. SO, if the baby does not come before Monday, we will be induced and the baby should then be born on Tuesday, November 14th... the due date. Well, the next few days could be very long with all the anticipation. I will keep everyone posted.

So, we went in yesterday for the 38 week appointment. We made a tiny bit of progress... 1.5 cms dilated and 70% effaced. The doctor said we could go any day now, but that doesn't mean the baby will make it before the due date. I am doing pretty good. Feeling huge and pretty uncomfortable, but I know the end is near, so I am surviving.

October 22, 2006- We had our second baby shower given by Ryan's Mom. It was a great time! Of course she made it perfect! We received many great gifts and had great company. The food was also delicious. We got many of the great gifts that we had left for Baby Staniak. It was great to see friends and family that we don't get to see quite as often as we like.
3.5 more weeks until the due date... I don't know if we will make it! That belly is huge!:) Ryan's still thinking Halloween will be the day. That's just 9 days away!

Well, I went in for my 36 week appointment yesterday and it looks like everything is progressing quite nicely. My blood pressure is good and I am not retaining too much water at this point, which is great. I am 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced and -2 to -3 station (How far the baby is "down" in the pelvis. Measured in negative and positive numbers. -3 is a floating baby, 0 station is said to be engaged in the pelvis, and +4 is crowning. ). This doesn't mean the baby will be here early or anything, just means that the baby is well on it's way. I have been feeling pretty great. I am pretty sleepy and by the end of the work day I just want to be laying down, but other than that, things aren't bad at all.
We went on our hospital tour this past Saturday. It all just makes everything more real. We are getting really excited and Dad-to-be is ready for the baby to come! (easier for him, since he won't be doing the pushing!) I am very excited though.. can't wait to meet the little one. (Or maybe the big one... Dr. thinks it's going to be at least 8 pounds!)
