Another Visitor...

Kristen came over yesterday to meet Reese. She also gave Reese an adorable purple Columbia jacket. Reese just loves it and can't wait until it fits! Thanks for the visit Kristen!

Today Reese had her first trip to a restaurant. We went to Weber Grill and Reese slept the entire time. What a good girl!

Reese was lucky to have some visitors today. First, she got to meet Erin and Jonathan Matta- the newly married friends of ours. Then, she got to meet cousin Eileen and Andrew! She was wide awake all morning for Erin and Jonathan, but took a nice warm nap in the arms of Eileen... must have been the name. Reese says thanks for the gifts and the company... mom and dad enjoyed it too!

Mommy's Little Eater!

Happy 1 Week to Reese!

We went in today to the doctor for Reese's first check up. Most babies lose 10% of their body weight in the first week... not our little Reese! She is up to 9lbs 4ozs! She is also one inch longer at 22 inches. She is an eating and pooping machine. We go back in two week for her next check up.

Everything Reese is making progress. She is a little better at night and had some tummy time at the doctor today where she really help up her head- what a trooper!

Now, the real props going to Daddy, who is taking fantastic care of his girls... what an amazing husband and dad!

Reese Eileen Staniak

Well, let me just say that this has been the most amazing, wonderful, painful, traumatic, scary, thrilling, exhausting experience of my life. As rough as it was, I wouldn't change it for the world (I sound like a mother already!).

So, here goes...
We came to the hospital at 7pm on Tuesday night.
8:30 pm - Started the cervidil
4:00 am - The nurse said I was dilated to about 5cms , so they took out the cervidil and decided I didn't need the pitocin since I was moving right along.
5:00 am - The contractions got completely painful and I was ready for the epidural.
7:00 am - I waited for about a half hour for the epidural. It was tough, but I survived. (I was originally most scared of the epidural... it was nothing.)

So, the next few hours were ok.
8:00 am - My water broke and I was 7 cms. Things were moving along nicely, I felt happy and ready to go.
10:15 am - I was fully dilated and it was time to begin the final stretch. No problem... right? Well, Ryan and Sabrina were in the room with me and the pushing began and I was doing ok. I pushed... and pushed... and began to feel like I was never going to get the baby out. At this point, the epidural was starting to fade. I thought it was normal to feel stuff, but really, I was feeling too much! It hurt me so much.
11:30 am - I started to make great progress and she was ready to come out, but of course, I had to wait for the doctor.
11:42 am - Reese entered the world.

They announced it was a girl, and I didn't even care, I was just happy I had the baby out and that I made it and mostly, that she was healthy.

The experience was overall rough and tough for Ryan and me (I got very beat up), but as people always say, it was worth it because she is so amazing. I can’t even believe she is ours! We love her so much.

So, here’s the info…

Just Waiting...

Here is little Noah. We hung out on Tuesday to pass some time waiting for baby Staniak. We had a nice time and Noah got to try out some new toys and break in the crib for little Stanny.
We were thinking that maybe the babe would make an appearance before Tuesday, but with only one day left, it looks like November 14th will be the day! Can't wait!

Week 39

Well, we went in for the 39 week appointment and there was no change! The doctor checked the fluid level and we did a Non Stress Test and every thing seemed to be ok, but the doctor does not want me going past our due date. SO, if the baby does not come before Monday, we will be induced and the baby should then be born on Tuesday, November 14th... the due date. Well, the next few days could be very long with all the anticipation. I will keep everyone posted.

Week 38!

So, we went in yesterday for the 38 week appointment. We made a tiny bit of progress... 1.5 cms dilated and 70% effaced. The doctor said we could go any day now, but that doesn't mean the baby will make it before the due date. I am doing pretty good. Feeling huge and pretty uncomfortable, but I know the end is near, so I am surviving.
