A Long and Fun Weekend

Here are some highlights from our VERY busy weekend! From Milwaukee for 2 Thanksgiving dinners to Illinois for the 2nd Foley Thanksgiving dinner, to the annual Foley/Zielinski Sing-a-Long... tons of cooking, a visit from Santa Clause, lots of singing, getting to see James, Toni (& Mr. Thommes), Reese walking all over the place, Reese starting a new phase of spitting out food ... It was wonderful but we were exhausted by the end of the weekend.
Family and friends make the world such a great place! :)

It's Getting Closer!

Here's our new place. The pics aren't that great, but it was getting dark. The back looks almost completely done and the front just needs some work on the grass. I can't wait to get inside!

1st Thanksgiving Dinner

Janet and Dad prepared us a yummy fondue dinner for Thanksgiving. They like to switch it up for us so that all of our Thanksgivings have a different meal. We played some games and ate plenty! It was a great time.
Reese kept me company outside as I put up some Christmas lights. (yes, we know it's early)
Grandpa kept Reese and Noah busy in the sandbox. They couldn't get enough, even in the cold weather.
"What do you want? We are busy!"

The First of Many

Reese fell yesterday and cut her chin on the coffee table. I was so sad for her. She barely cried, but it left quite a mark. Poor thing. (I know, this will happen again...)

So Brave

We became members at the YMCA and went for our first work out. We chose the Y because you get free child care while you work out. So, we arrived and found the children's room. We walked in and it was what you would expect... lots of toys, a bright colored rug, a cartoon playing on a little tv, small tables and chairs... and about 8 kids about 4-8 years old. We weren't really sure what to do, but the young girls working there told us, "it's pretty much a free for all... she can just play." Uh... ok. She's almost 1 and though she is with kids every day, she knows those kids and the environment she is in... this is all new. We brought her over to the toys and got her interested in them so we could sneak out.

The second we got out of the room we both felt so bad. We just left her in there. We were more concerned with the change than she was. So, we went in the gym, ran for a while and went to check on her. She was sitting in there at the small table coloring (or maybe just holding a crayon), happy as can be.

Twenty more minutes and we checked on her again. She was in one of the "teacher's" arms and still happy.

After an hour, we went and got her. They said she didn't cry once and was perfect. They said they were holding her because she was just so nice and quiet. (Though next time she may have tears, this first time was just what we needed to feel comfortable with going back)

So, she's almost 1, and I felt like I was sending her off to pre-school already. I can't imagine how hard that will be... for me!

1 more day and she will be one!

Other info... Reese tried to eat her first block today- luckily Aunt Sabrina fished it out of her mouth before she choked. Reese saw her first movie this weekend (The Bee Movie- and she slept through most of it). She is still just taking steps from one thing to the next, but she is getting closer.

Happy 1st Birthday Party

Reese's first birthday is only 10 days away, and we celebrated the special day today with family and friends. Here are some of the highlights!

Cute birthday hat from Grandma Jill.

Aunt Sabrina, Uncle Mark, Aunt Jen, Uncle Jonathan, Aunt Carissa, and Dave put together this awesome castle for Reese's birthday gift. It was amazing. Inside there were great gifts! All the little kids celebrated with Happy First Birthday hats. Mommy and Daddy.
Reese's enchanting smash cake with a graham cracker door created specially by Uncle Mark and Auntie Sabrina.

Reese LOVED her cake. Notice all the cupcakes.
Mmmm... this stuff is GOOD!

... and by the end of the day, there was no chance at keeping her up!
