Week 17 - Tap Tap

Ok, so this is far from the best picture of me (I can't even believe I am posting it), but it's not about me... it's about baby #2 growing inside my belly!
I think I have been feeling flutters for a week or so, and just this past Saturday, I believe I felt two taps. At first I wasn't sure if it was the baby, but after the second one, I was sure it was the same kind of tap I felt the first time Reese said hello. Since then I think I may have felt some movement, but nothing consistent just yet. It makes me so excited and happy to be pregnant again.
I am currently in the in between stage... not my normal belly, but not obviously prego yet. It's a little bit of a challenge for me, but I know that I will be there soon enough. Next Monday we have an ultrasound where we could find out the sex, but we have decided to leave the surprise for the birth day.Week 17: Your baby weighs 5 ounces now, and he's around 5 inches long. He can move his joints, and his skeleton — until now rubbery cartilage — is starting to harden to bone. His sense of hearing is also developing. The umbilical cord, his lifeline to the placenta, is growing stronger and thicker.

Visitors

The Berggren's were nice to come visit us for the weekend. It was great showing them our new place and just hanging out and taking it easy. We also had the Matta's visit on Sunday, which was also great. It's so fun to see them and Erin's growing belly! Here are a few pics from our fun weekend.

Off the Charts!

I took Reese to the doctor today for her 15 month check-up, and she did great. If you look below, you will see her height is way off the charts (34.75") and her weight is in the 85th percentile (25lbs 4ozs). She was such a trooper. All the milestones that the doctor said she would be doing soon, she is already doing. I think a lot of it is from learning from Noah. When she got her shots, it took her a second to start crying and then they were done. I told her "All Done," and she quickly stopped crying and sniffled while saying "All Done." It was the cutest thing ever and even made the nurses laugh. She is just such a joy!

Happy Days for All

Welcome to my longest post.... EVER!

Well, we had a busy weekend, which is always expected when we make the trip up North to Green Bay. We went and celebrated Madisyn's 1st Birthday and Reese loved playing with her friend. Here are two pictures to show you what a difference a year makes. It had been 3 months since we got to see the Berggren's so it was a treat to share all the new skills the girl's have learned.

... here's a bonus picture to show you how happy the girl's were to see each other and cuddle!
So, tomorrow is my Dad's birthday and Madisyn's first birthday. I doubt my dad will be diving into a Birthday cake like Madisyn did, but hopefully it's a great day for both! Madisyn was very clean about digging into her cake, and Reese just wanted to join in on the fun.

Later in the evening, we brought Reese over to see Erin. She so kindly said she would watch Reese so we could make our next adventure out to our friend Shaun's surprise 30th birthday party (check out the cool cake below).
The 30th Birthday party was fun. It was great to see our friends Bree and Shaun.
Anyway, I am so disappointed that I didn't take a picture of Erin because her belly is SO CUTE!!! I just couldn't stop staring at her. Really. I think she may be the cutest prego ever (and I am pretty cute-KIDDING). She has a doppler at her house, so we got to listen to Baby #2's heartbeat and Baby Matta's heartbeat. It was so much fun! I think I could have played with it for hours! Thanks so much to Erin for watching Reese. (Reese couldn't stop telling us how much fun she had and how she can't wait to do it again - and can't WAIT to meet her new friend in May!)
Here's Erin and Jonathan... yes, this way a couple years ago, but just imagine a cute little bump!
In other news, Reese was taking a bath with Madisyn (Brian "should" be posting some adorable pics soon), and Brian was asking if Reese ever poops in the bath. I told him this never happens and then turn to see Reese working on a poop. I grabbed her and put her on the toilet. Sure enough..."plop." We were laughing so hard and Reese had no clue what was going on! Then, this morning, Reese was very obviously working on another poop so I put her on the toilet and she pooped! Two times on the toilet in two days. What proud parents. Now, I know it's way early for potty training, but we will continue to try and catch her in the "act" and get her on the toilet so she learns the association. I wish I had my camera out the other day, she was sitting on her own potty with a crosswork book in hand. I later found the crossword book in her potty, but you would have thought she was a grown man sitting and relaxing on the pot!

Last (but not least), Baby #2. There is not too much to report at this point except that things are going great. My belly is getting bigger and I won't be able to hide it for much longer! I love being pregnant. I am lucky enough to not feel too sick. I went to the doctor Monday and heard the heartbeat and our next visit we will have an ultrasound.

Thanks for the fun weekend and thanks everyone for reading!!

...AND, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our friend Kerry! We hope you have a great one. We miss you!

Fun in the Snow.

As I am sure you read across the other blogs, Chicago got hit with a ton of snow yesterday. I had a snow day! Woo hoo. After it all calmed down, Ryan and I decided to take Reese out in the snow for some playtime. We were outside for maybe a total of 8 mintues, and she was a little confused. You can tell she was thinking..."what do you want me to do out here? This stuff is too hard to stand in, let alone walk in!" Anyway, it was a good (short) fun time and she will now be more ready for when Auntie Carissa takes her out!!
Here are some pics...
Getting ready to brave the cold.

Now what?

"Daddy, you are so silly!"

Crawling in the snow doesn't work so well."What? You want me to go inside?!"
