First Steps

video

So, I would say that Chase is officially on his way to walking. I think his first steps were on the May 25th, but here are some of the first caught on camera. He gets braver and braver every day. In a few weeks, he will be a walking champ!

In other news... we are waiting the arrival of our newest nephew. She should be able to meet him tomorrow! Woo hoo! Good luck to Jonathan and Jen! :)

Memorial Day Weekend: Great Times!

We started off the weekend on a quiet note, just chilling at home, but it turned out to be a very eventful and fantastic weekend.
Ryan and I got to go out for our anniversary on Saturday while my dad and Janet watched the kids. We dropped them off in the afternoon, and planned on going to a movie, but the weather was just too nice, so we had some drinks, did some shopping at an outside mall, and enjoyed a fancy dinner at California Pizza Kitchen! :) May sound lame to you, but it was a great time. I had such a nice time with my lovely husband. We ended the night with some Nertz too and kicked my dad and Janet's butts!
We then headed up to Lake Geneva on Sunday morning with the Connelly's and Holtz's (Thanks to Sabrina for this amazing idea!). We played bubbles, did face painting, played out door games, walked around downtown Lake Geneva, jumped in a Bounce House, enjoyed s'mores at the bonfire, had some drinks... it was really a fantastic time. I can't wait to do it again.
Here are a ton of pictures- but all my favorites!
Noah cooking up some marshmallows.
Daddy and Reese cooking up some yummy treats.

Avery enjoying her s'mores! So cute. She just wants to chocolate. She is a chocolate lover like her mom!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Ryan and I have been married for 4 years... and an amazing 4 years they have been. It may seem like it's been a lot longer, because we have been friends for 10 years and together for 9! We have accomplished so much together and will accomplish so much more. I think back four years and remember our super fun wedding day and all of our family and friends that shared it with us.

If anyone watches the bachelor, Jason said, "I want to marry more than my best friend..." I thought that was odd, since I married by best friend and it's the greatest... and only gets better.

Looking forward to many more wonderful, crazy, and happy years!

Here we are on our honeymoon... 4 years ago!

A Trip to the Park

Auntie Carissa came over last week on her day off to keep us company. We took a walk to the park, and though the windy walk took longer than the 15 minutes of play time at the park, it made for a great day.

"Adult Place"

"Reese, where is Mommy and Daddy going?"

"An Adult place"

We were just helping her know where we were going and why she couldn't go.
We had a GREAT night out. It was much deserved, since I think it had been FOREVER since we had a night out. My cousin is back from college and she watched the kids so we could have a fun night away. We hit up a little bar called Flip Flops near our house, played some dice, and drank a little too much booze (which I am paying for today). Thanks to everyone who came out... it was a blast!

More Pictures from Mother's Day Weekend

We came home from Milwaukee on Sunday and Reese played dress up. She wanted to first wear her barbie dress and then it switched to this hot number!

"Hello, ladies!"

Dave and Carissa hosted a nice fun Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

Housework Can Wait

Come in, but don't expect to find
All dishes done, all floors ashine.
Observe the crums and toys galore.
The smudgy prints upon the door.
The little ones we shelter here
Don't thrive on a spotless atmosphere.
They're more inclined to disarray
And carefree even messy play.
Their needs are great, their patience small.
All day I'm at their beck and call.
It's Mommy come! Mommy see!
Wiggly worms and red scraped knee.
Painted pictures, blocks piled high.
My floors unshined, the days go by.
Some future day they'll flee this nest,
And I at last will have a rest!
Now you tell me which matters more,
A happy child or a polished floor?

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there... both family and friends. Being a mom is the best job in the world and a tough one! Thanks to our moms for teaching us, loving us and making sacrifices every day for our happiness.

The house will always be a little messy here!

9 Month Stats

Chase is now 20lbs 10ozs. He is 29 1/4 inches tall. He is right on track with his milestones. He really seems to like the idea of standing and cruising... I think he will be walking before we all know it. The doctor asked if he gets a little scared around strangers... he is at that age, and, yes, he is surely running into some separation anxiety when Mommy leaves the room (but he adjusts quickly). Time sure flies. He is going to be a year before we know it!
