Our weekend was great. We got to visit at Jonathan and Jen's, help Ron move (well, Ryan did), play at a park or two, play in the pool with the cousins, take down my mom's deck (again, I didn't participate in the tear down, but someone had to watch the kids!), do some cleaning, shopping... I am sure I am forgetting things, but it was hot and action packed.
The three little guys hanging by the pool.
Nate, Chase, and Jackson.
Chase and Jackson. Sprinkler time! Avery, Reese, Noah, Chase.
This weekend was one of the best weekends we have had in a long time! I had so much fun with my family. It was amazing.
Friday we took the kids to Monkey Joe's and had dinner at Portillos.
Saturday Reese had her last day of pre-school where she got a little report card that said she did great and was a "bright child." We played water table outside with Beth and Abigail, and Eileen and Ron were so kind to watch Reese and Chase so Ryan and I could go out for our anniversary. We ate at a local restaurant, John and Tony's, and then headed to Pheasant Run and saw "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." It was funny and great.
Sunday we decided to have a fun filled day. We left the house before 8am, went to Starbucks, two parks (Reese said the first one was "creepy" (where does she come up with these things? - it was nice, just didn't have as much little kid things), Whole Foods, Just Play- a Carol Stream kid's fair, a good nap, more water table, and then some more outside fun at the Connelly's.
I love my family. They make life so fun.
Water table at the Connelly's. Check out all those kids!
Chase loving the water table. You should hear him say "swom soup" and "water table."
He loves it. It's right up there with "bounce house." Playing with the Children's Museum activities at the fair.
Look at the work of Daddy-O. He thought it was so cool!
Today is our anniversary... our FIVE year anniversary. Looking back at our big day, I remember such a fun and exciting day filled with family and friends and memories that we will never forget. I remember being nervous to walk down the aisle but it was easy because I was marrying my best friend! Everyone believes their husband is the best, but my husband is the greatest for me and makes me so happy. We have accomplished more than I could have dreamed of in the last five years and know that the next 5... 10... 50 will bring more love, memories, and happiness. We aren't perfect, but we are perfect for each other!
Reese went to her Pre-School screening on Monday. She was very excited to go to Noah's school and check out where she would be going four days a week starting in the fall for pre-school. She was beyond excited and not nervous one bit. When we first got there she wanted to hold my hand, but it didn't take long for her to go play with the toys and play with another little girl. They took the kids into a different room and watched them play, interact, and tested some other skills. According to the teachers, she did great and above average work (whatever that really means). She was sad to go, but I let her know she will be back soon. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. It's hard to get sad about her big step when she is just so excited. That's right folks, I am 30 weeks! (No, I am still 29 years old, but soon I will be reaching that milestone too!) I have under 70 days to go... just over 2 months. It seems so close and so far away all at the same time, but needless to say, I am excited!
I went to the doctor today. Everything went well. I heard a nice strong heartbeat, blood pressure was good, learned that I did for sure pass my gestational diabetes test with flying colors, and my belly measured 31 1/2 cms, which says I am measuring a little big. I looked back at the last two and I was measuring about the same at this point with each. It really doesn't mean much, because it could just be from the way the baby is lying, but I think that it's just saying that I will likely have a baby around the same size.
I asked the doctor about being induced and he said the earliest they would induce me is on July 19th (a week before my due date, and also Sabrina's birthday!). It will all depend on how my cervix is progressing to see if my body would even be ready for being induced. I'd love to go into labor naturally again (things went so much quicker this way), but being induced with Reese wasn't so bad either. We will just see what happens as time moves on. They will do an ultrasound when we get closer to the due date too to check out the baby's size. All in all, it was an uneventful (in a good way) appointment, and I go back in two weeks!
I am still feeling pretty good. Starting to feel big, well, huge. I am getting up at night to go to the bathroom and it's a little harder to get comfortable at night, but mainly I sleep like a champ. The baby moves a lot more now and some of the moves are quite hard and even surprise me. I am still thinking that it's going to be a boy... there is no real reason though. I have some braxton hicks contractions, but nothing painful, just some tightening, which is normal.
That's about it. Here's my 30 weeks picture. I am getting big!
We finally made it to Green Bay. I wouldn't guess that it had been 9 months since we were there, but the fact that my friend Bree's daughter is just about 9 months and I haven't met her until this weekend, means that it's true! It's been a LONG time! Ryan was off on Friday and I took a half day so we could beat the traffic (especially with all the construction) on our way up. The drive wasn't bad and the kids got in a little nap.
We first went to Bree and Shaun's house and got to meet Adaiah. She is so cute, social, and friendly. The kids loved her and she seemed to think they were ok too. Chase loved to give her kisses.
We then headed to the Berggren's house. Reese and Madisyn were most excited to play together. They attempted having a slumber party, but it seemed that one of them or the other was too exhausted each night. They loved playing kitchen and hanging in Madisyn's room. It's so fun to watch them play together as they grow up. They don't see each other often enough, but when together they just make up for lost time... like the parents. It was great seeing Brian and Amie too! :)
The kids had a blast playing at the park.
Reese and Chase's attempt to go down the slide together.
Reese climbs on everything like a champ. It makes me a little nervous, but she does great!
Reese playing with Parker. Parker lives behind Brian and Amie. Reese has a great time playing with him and Madisyn. His Mom is also pregnant and due a few weeks after me. It was nice to talk to another set of parents that can't decide on a name!
Chase is a monkey at the park too. He will try and climp on everything!
Ryan took Chase for his first "real" hair cut today! No tears from this champ. Ryan has the equipment at home, so it's easy for him (and free) to just cut it at home, but Chase throws a massive fit every time. So, off they went, and I hear it was a success! Chase is getting to be a "big boy" now. He is always saying "big boy" when he wants to do something by himself, or walk instead of being picked up. "Mommy, Big Boy!" Precious. In Reese news... we were playing outside yesterday and Reese had to run inside to go to the bathroom, well it was really windy, and when she was coming back out, I heard this horrifying scream after the garage door shut. I had heard it slam, so I was like, oh no... she broke her finger in the door (the wind will whip the door shut sometimes). I ran my large belly over to the door, expecting the worst, and there she was, all in one piece, FREAKING out over a FLY. I am telling you, it wasn't just a cry, it was a scream (ask Beth, she was out there with me and heard the terror in Reese's voice). Anyway, she points to this big fly that was flying around by her! I had to laugh. I was glad she was ok, but is she a girl, or what?!
A friend of mine from middle school has a blog and it inspired to me follow her four year old daughter's theme for a day and have a Silly Picture Day! (The Chochran Family ) I thought this idea would be great and the kids actually really got into it for a few hours. Here is the silliness from our day.
I know it's only mid-May, and that we don't live in a place that is always sunny, but I want some sunshine and warmth. We need to get outside, run around, and enjoy spring time!
Reese had her last dance class. Here is another picture of her showing off her moves!
Abigail hung out with us last week, and Avery and Reese thought she was so cool. They both wanted to sit by her, dance with her, and play with her. Always trying to think of a way to entertain these kiddies, we made a house under the dining room table. At some moments they loved it and other times they weren't interested, but we kept it up and they made it fun! I kept trying to be creative, but sometimes it so hard! Happy little Reese! She is keeping us on our toes. I don't know if it's Chase's whining or what, but she has been a little bit more of a "cry baby" lately. I think that she thinks it will help her get her way, but that's not happening. I don't have a good Chase picture to post at the moment, but he has been a bit of a challenge lately. He gets bored or wants something and he will hit and push. He is very whiny on certain days and still throws a heck of a tantrum. BUT, he is loving and so happy to be with his cousins and family. He pooped on the potty this morning and I am getting pumped up for the potty training. It's going to be so hard, but I think he may be able to do it.
